For Your Pleasure Vol....6

   and without my voice

About this album

This is music especially for those video/docu/makers, searching for background music. Colouring their images with Vol.6 in the FYP series, takes you on a groovy, exotic ride from one wave to another. Upbeat, breezy and sometimes dreamy, melancholic instrumentals. Hypnotic dancing allowed! All conceived (written, played, arranged, recorded, mixed and mastered by JoosTVD) in my tiny homestudio. Mixing/mastering: Pro Tools, Apollo Twin Quad and Ozon 8 Mastersuite.
Have fun!

For Your Pleasure...5

Yes, here's the 5th one in the series just after the 4th. It's for you videomakers, who need a few fitting tunes to enhance their moving pictures. Potential listeners can enjoy the grooves and melodies of course...if you don't like my voice, haha. Couldn't wait for another instrumental album (only released on Jamendo folks!), just before my regular album "Just Say kNOw" comes out (sooner than I think). Really? That makes two instrumental albums en one vocal album in 2018.
No, no, no really... it's all about quality! It's just that I've been kicked around too long by these songs, begging me to let them out. Now you can play them. Need vocals on them tunes? In about week!

For Your Pleasure Vol.3

The summer fever is blowing my top!

Update.
Inbetween regular albums I also keep myself busy with compiling instrumental stuff from the past.
The goal is to reach out to all of those multi-media projects that are flowing around, waiting for a soundbit to cheer them up.
It has become some kind of a tradtion, hence the addition of volume 3 in the title, which was originally inspired by my favourite album by Roxy Music.
For me an opportunity to rework/ revisit old ideas, some with, some without vocals. Some I only had to remaster. This time I even went back as far as the year 2000. Both "Master Of Mystery" and "Blackout" are from the never before released (online that is) "Thanks For Stopping By" album of that year, so these are the original versions with only a finishing remaster touch. Some have never been released instrumentals that originally were planned for vocal versions (recorded between 2002-2009), like "Funk Da Junk", "Low On Da Flow" and "Sniff Da Riff", a threesome locked together by the word "Da".
Really relaxing fun for me to do something different productionwise, because at the same time I can recharge my batteries for the new stuff, that need to breath, need nursing and motivation to finish them (off). I'm in the "I need lyrics" phase now.

Snippets of the regular, official albums

By the way, I have tons of recordings waiting for a place on the web, also more newer stuff for the next volume 4, 5, 6 amd what the heck, 7, 8, 9....

These instrumental albums I only share on Jamendo, where various stuff has already been picked up by a few videomakers for their projects.

So, what does it sound like?

Well search for tags like:
trippy, groovy, sexy, funky, orchestral, busy, cool, mellow, intense, cinematic, funny, carnavalesque, dreamy, smooth, dancable, freaky, fast, hyper, hypnotic, circuslike, latinesque, melodic, fustrating.......

So there they are:

                                                                       For Your Pleasure Vol.2

Yes, use my song!

Once in a while I come across "JoosTVD" songs supporting videos on youtube that really take me by surprise. Some of these songs are 10 years old! I've got nothing to do with these promo videos, but it's nice to see what other people add to to what once was an idea popping out of your head and pooring out of your fingers...so a few here to illustrate that.

Another one on a spanish documentary site: WALK BY THE EXHIBITION 'EXCRETA. AN EXPOSITION

Songs used in the video's are: Bomber Drone, Shark In The Disco, Circus Monkey, Sow Motion Dream, Stupid Song(s), Tweet.

Ps. (alert! commercial intermisssssssion) Need some of my music? I've got two instrumental albums "For Your Pleasure 1 & 2" on Jamendo readymade, waiting to inspire you!

In The Works

Hai there, Joost has an update. Nothing shocking or to scare you or embarrass myself of I hope... I'm working on it...work to make it work. Ideas pile up every day. It says so on my Twitteraccount. Excitement occures ocassionally. Which ones will end up on the new album? I've already got 9 songs in the pipeline, but far more sketchy ideas, all helping me to focus I guess. As I want this to be a compact one, there'll be no more than 12 of them. More quality, less quantity then? Well if you chew out a full album (say double album) of say about 18 songs, that's a lot to process. It worked more or less with the last one. But especially in the finishing stage, you have to have fresh ears. Less is more! The most fun part for me is to write, record and arrange the songs, but the finishing part (mixing and mastering) is easier to do with less. I'm in the middle of  this mixing process with 9 songs, working more and more on the details than before. Let them breath in an experimental journey.
Is this all neccessairy? Well, I've been around the block writing songs a few times now and I just want to get better you know. Yes I know and you know. Get ready!
In the meantime if you just can't wait, did you know I've come up with another instrumental album on Jamendo?

Paycheck!

1.Hey José, where the hell have you been?
2.Where is that tribute video of Lou Lou you've been promising since don't know when?

1.Relaxing in the backgarden thinking about what to do with that bonus

Ok, sometimes I'm so deep down digging in my musical cave, I don't even know where the entrance was. Too pre-occupied with the nice moments of inspiration maybe, but on the other hand I am a compassionate familyman for the full 101%.
So to answer those obvious questions:
1. I'm "always" writing, playing, noodling, even at night, a burst of silent energy has to be written down in words. Kicks all around! The new music is very groovy, funky, slick and dirty, I can't stop this hypnosis.
I can relax a bit. See picture: a few weeks back I found out I've earned a "few" bucks on licenses at Jamendo. More than I could have imagined!
Since I've been distributing my music on Jamendo, a lot of people have listened to my stuff and even more effectively, have used it as background music for their benefit, like public places, projects, restaurants and more.

It's about being played. Streaming is not that profitable now for artists maybe, but it will, because more and more people do that. Downloading (piracy, iTunes) is outa here!
Radioplays are the best way reach more people. As you know Croydon radio (suburb London) has been playing my songs (playlisted) almost every week since the beginning of 2013. (Brouhaha, Stupid Song(s), The Route Through The Quiet Jungle, Talkwalk, Trip Together, The Root Of My Belly, Alice Tea, I See You, Cowboy On The Moon, Social Suicide have been played on various radioshows). Here's the list of the most played 499 artists on Croydon (I am on number 10!)
Croydon most played all time

2.Try to make a nice fitting video, well it's a difficult thing to do that yourself as an amateur. Even though I'm not a professional with the best movie editing skills, I can still see all those nice little drawings I spontaniously scribbled down (Scribbles) a few months ago, come together more and more as I flesh out all the tiny, little details in those moving frames. All it needs a bit more time and... time is the healer.

2.boy from that promised video
And now.....listen and enjoy:

Take a free ride, give us a tip then!

In the middle of songwriting, recording, exploring ideas, I am always looking for new platforms to spread my works on. Grateful for those ingenious guys who put a lot of work in creating them! I found one, called Noisetrade that's very professional, easy to work with. A lot different options for musicians. Listeners can download all 8 albums I've digitized so far and- just like a waiter- you can leave a tip to support the good cause.....so why don't you try it out? (I know, there's a "grabbelton" up here, so why bother to go up there?)
And yes, I am working on some new stuff all the time. A lot of ideas I record right away, but as I get older, I'm becoming increasingly critical of the outcome. I just want the best songs to survive. But hey, I am just a creative, but mortal human being with these fustrating limitations. So what I really appreciate is the moral support, the feedback that is so important to keep me motivated, so don't hesitate, keep in touch!
Here are some cool platforms for ya (the list keeps growing):

Review in German Wasser Prawda Magazine

 Wasser Prawda
By Nathan Norgel, Bluespfaffe

English

Joos TVD from the Netherlands is the "water-Pravda" a worthy successor to the musical genius Frank Zappa. On his latest album, "The Art Decoy Blue Beard Boy" the one-man band delivers again a mixture of jazz-funk, pop-rock and humor.
Somewhere there was once, in a column that is not entirely flippant remark meant that life without a new book by Robert Gernhard is much harder to bear. The same could also write about really humorous and at the same time intelligent pop and rock music. And since Frank Zappa no longer available for musically satisfying and humorous at the same albums, one must always keep attention on the lookout here. Joos The Vanished Dutchman has in recent years to convince me again and again. And if "type Decoy The Blue Beard Boy" with "Drool All Over You" gets going, it's clear: Here again a perfect party album was created in the home studio: funk-jazz grooves, and occasionally a few incisive guitar lines and songs who sing not only on frogs to drug taking but also all the hysteria, Facebook and the likes to make fun or love ballads to beat at all schmaltzy. The "Occupy" movement, annoying friends and other topics will be rotated by the radio mixer and thrown onto the floor, where they do splendidly. Conclusion: Be sure to download and shake up the next dance party with it! Even as kostenfreihes Christmas album is worth a recommendation.

Popular? Yeah on Jamendo

The only dutch guy up there on the first page....it's not that important, but......
there must someone who's listening to this goofy stuff, HA!
Well, I'm already busy, goofing again, working with protools on some new sounds. Can't sit still.
So, meanwhile look over there at Jamendo, a lot of different new talents are trying to survive in the same pool. One day we'll all be famous, ha ha!

Reviews from the net

From Jamedo, music platform:

Carybe, Portugal :
You know what?... funk yourself.
25/08/11

Let me tell you... music, is a very serious thing... right?... but, there's nothing in the book that says it can't be fun... or even funny. In fact, I believe that it even benefits a whole lot, when musicians are having fun while doing it. And to those who may be inclined to think that "playing with music" is just a subterfuge, think better... remember, before you can even think about making whatever stunts, the simplest they may appear to be, you have necessarily to learn a lot of other basic stuff... and there are no shortcuts. Sure this album, transpires a lot of fun... but it breathes quality and know how all over. It's... an extended, but overall gratifying... funky based production, leaded by an excellent performer, with a voice full of personality and a full bodied singing, replete of irony and good spirit. The music is quite addictive and sounds generally super well... and if at this point and by any chance, you still have at least, the slightest temptation, of thinking that this funky stuff ain't serious music, then... most probably... you are in a desperate need situation, of being funked... and funked real good.
Communication is, in fact, a complicated thing... words, sometimes, develop such strong roots in some rough ground, that pull out some other possible meanings and applications or even associations, can be a very hard task... so it happens within the world of music, necessarily as a communication vehicle. I'm convinced that, quite often, the most effective way to mark and transmit a serious point of view, is to joke with and about it, for instance.
However, this basically sums it up.
Thanks for the music... and stay well.

It has been a long time since anyone has taken potshots at the events of the world, and all the little things that happen within a persons day. JoosTVD has picked up, somewhat, where Frank Zappa left off. Perhaps not with the music end, but lyrical content is a definate hoot! My favorites are Alice Tea and Tweet. I like the change from past efforts!

I am always sorry for the artists that you can't buy their albums in a store. You can find a lot of albums here which are much better tham some of the albums you can buy.
This album is one of them.
I am really sorry that there is a lack of good taste in this society today.
But keep on making good music. I love it and I am glad that i found jamendo.com
I always find albums or songs that entertain me more than Lady Gaga or the whole mainstream music.

Fine album, fine songs, fine arraments, fine players... Also fine lyrics.
So what's wrong? Nothing, except that the Vanished Dutchman is just here (ok this is a fine place!), and Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga and RWilliams are everywhere.
Thanks again.

Aufklarung

In tempi ormai lontani ho studiato Francese.
(and this is granted at least in music, if it seems impossible in the social field. Here there's plenty of fantasy, along with a humor that exudes from your notes.
In days gone by I studied French. The English do not chew on anything and it's a shame, because I imagine that for irony and fantasy texts should keep the same pace of the music)

Very creative work. Components of rhythmic funk and jazz, mix in a very interesting way. The vocal with a humorous twist, coupled with unusual sounds, enjoy the beholder. The movements are nice and well built. Very good.

....is hier das Motto.

Very cool album indeed.

Orson Nietes is an album filled with perkiness and funky peppiness. JoosTVD clearly shows innovative approaches to music and the anarchic madness of this album actually portrays a great cohesive piece of work. It is a wonderfully inventive "popourri" of tongue-in-cheek medleys and a delight to the ears.

(Beautiful music played and sung by an eclectic and versatile artist, who can roam with mastery and confidence between different genres, but always to 'teach the groove!
It 'a music full of pleasant surprises, more enhanced by a beautiful voice ...
To listen to, because it deserves!)
