Dear Tom Robinson has good ears! He's played a few songs on his radio show in the past, so I'm already spoiled enough I guess. A lot talent out there!
Just his mention of my latest song is enough for me

I was not planning to make another promo as I'm a musician first. but then... I stumbled on some instagram effects to enhance your selfies! Well that did the trick and as you can see, it's all over this video. I know, I'm aware that I'm getting old and ugly, so in the future I will not overdo this anymore.
I've just had a lot of fun writing, playing and recording this upbeat track "City Of The Mirrorballs" that I could not resist producing a promo around it. I even went so far as to use a frame for the front and back cover for the new album, Sand In My Shoes.
Hope you like it, don't get lost in the trance of the mirrorball!
Next: Released, where can I find it?
While waiting for the new album to arrive I stumbled on this...
An oldie from 2008 (album 'Hey Jose'). Tik Tok is very popular these days, all kind of crazy stuff happening when you allow yourself to be filmed... by yourself. Well, the word 'fat' is often literally used in these clips though, it was only meant to emphasize the money part, well...
I'm back, coming up from the deep with Sand In My Shoes, the title of my new album, will arrive 16th july 2022. My 18th digitally released by AMAdea music.
I'm, of course, very happy with it. 12 melodic and funky songs in various styles, moods and rhythms, it will be introduced by a promo video that will show you exactly what I've just said.... patience!
Next. Next. Next!
Surprise, surprise! Another lovely review from this dutch music website, Timpaan Muziek. Very Constructive views on the songs. They were very critical of the 2020 album "Doesn't Ring A Bell", but maybe it helped creating better songs. Who knows?! Well thanks again!
In dutch:
The fly on the wall routine weer teruggevonden.
World of make believe en World of disbelieve maken samen een opmerkelijk tweeluik.
In English:
Also this year there is a new JoosTVD, Suit yourself. He also uses his recognizable style on this album. He mixes jazz, rock, pop and Latin American influences into a unique style. The humor keeps the many virtuoso riffs in balance.
JoosYVD himself says about the creation of this album: “I threw out old-fashioned underlying frustrations. That gave the necessary intensity to the songs. I was inspired by a lot of collected, random one-liner word fields, with which I could color melodies quite spontaneously.”
On Suit yourself he has rediscovered the form of The fly on the wall routine. On the title song Suit yourself, JoosTVD shows that he bounces in all directions. The horn sounds that come out of the keyboard are nice. The bass guitar with many syncopes plays a leading role in the accompaniment. Virtuoso, tight production sometimes busy because of the many layers together make a slick sound.
The buzz has an infectious drive. World of make believe and World of disbelieve together make a remarkable diptych. While the former is the best track on the album, the latter seems to make fun of it. Suit yourself and Suit myself have the same kind of relationship with each other.
JoosTVD presents an excellent album to fans of his music this year.
Hai there! I love this review from Marino Serdons from Keys & Chords.
This is his 4th time reviewing my stuff. Well thank You!
In English:
Sound artist JoosTVD recently threw a new creation on the internet. Suit Yourself lets us enjoy a mix of styles; from funk over R&B to jazz. When you hear Joost The Vanished Dutchman for the first time, you will be surprised. Richly layered compositions that go completely against the grain in times of minimalism. There is always some cheerfulness in the songs (also a rarity). Simplicity and mainstream are (fortunately) not in his dictionary. Just like Frank Zappa back then, creativity knows no bounds. But where Frank sometimes went overboard on whether he dared to compose symphonic works, multi-instrumentalist JoosTVD always delivers structured and comprehensible work (despite strange jumps). The funky grooves and the humorous (almost theatrical) finds are now part of the Dutchman's trademark. That makes the successor of 'Just Say Know' a piece of cake for the fans and for the musical directors.
Once again JoosTVD with a funky album that entertains and inspires at the same time.
