That's 2005 up till now 2023!
My own collection on cd on the carpet. The latest soon on www
Show me some moving pictures!
Yes, but let me explain... I'm not a professional Godley and Creme video maker, although I do have a lot of fun with the process of creating something myself.
Inspiration
Well, a lot of that came from working, experimenting with Instagram. After I made the front cover(s) et all, I used those pictures as a background to put the singing stuff on top of it. I made a lot of short reels, where I tried to playback to the song with different effects on top of them. Almost all of those Joosts have sunglasses, haha. I don't know why..
Then I put all those faces in round frames, moving and shaking to the beat.
Hardware and software do matter!
It's all DIY stuff you know so it has its charms! Sure, the technical side is important of course, to work out precisely the pitching of the singing for example.. it almost drove me crazy. Overall I thinks it floats pretty well.
Hope you tap to the beat with me! So let's find some popcorn...
Hai Folks... I'm back with 14 brand new songs and there's nothing FAKE about them! Just try... and
"PUT YOUR FAKE IN IT"
will be released on 13 june 2023, distribution by AMAdea, yes for real.
I'm super excited off course, because as I get older, to create something new one should expect that it would come with more physical and mental difficulties and slowness. Well, everyone has its dog days -problems and frustrations- that's because we're human after all. Don't believe the news, just keep in touch.
But music always gets me going! It even gets easier to put ideas in a form that appeals to me. After all those years of repeating the process and work with an almost blind determination, my confidence has grown a lot in the way I work. I know what I like. I feel great and I feel bad at the same time and I accept that. Simple. I love it.
So here is my 19 digital release and to introduce it I'll show you the covers first.
Description:
I took a picture of that guy, cut it out and put it on a blank canvas with the world in the distant background. As I lost two beloved cats at the beginning of this year- I'm still processing this- I put a symbolic cat on the backcover, begging me for some attention. They gave me so much love. O, how I miss them...!!!
Kleintje and Dropje |
The innersleeves were the first choices, but to not discard them totally, I gave them a better place.
I'm also busy working on this fake promo video. Yes, it's a process I've grown to love, but off course I'm not Stanley Kubrick.
Hope it will work out! CU, thanks for listening, TVD
Next: Yes, show me your fake promo video!

Hai folks, sometimes I crawl back into my blog and here is why. Chosen from 200 songs on Fresh on The Net site, hosted by Tom Robinson, familiar also to have been featured as a Fresh Fave of the week and various mixtapes, now my song "Legends" is on a playlist of the more obscure:
Will Farr from Signal Committee took notic TU:
Keep it Up U all!!
Hai there,
How are U?
I guess TikTok is very popular, but I don't use it, though I've roamed around a little, looking for my songs and hey, here's one: (From the album "Just say Know" [2018], also on your Spotify!)

De heupwiegende groover Can’t Own What Fades Away sluit het album af.
English:
The big musical adventure book by Joostvd has now, if I have counted well, ready for part 18. And again I continue to be surprised that Joostvd is not yet a big name in our own country, or abroad, is.
Joost van Dinther, also known as The Vanished Dutchman, shows again that we are dealing here with a very self -willed artist, who does not deny his influences but integrates them in his own unique style.
in the opening number of His new album, City of the Pretty, sounds Joostvd like the Dutch Isaac Hayes, or as you want Barry White. Funky symphonic soul with a stubborn sniffing synthesizer.
In Join the Line-Up Joostvd goes on the so-known loom swinging tour again where he sounds like Todd Rundgren, who went on the Latin tour. Go with you is a Loom Funky Pop song in which Lome Michael Franks-like vocals are mixed with the tropical Kid Creole style.
The lazy driving and jazzy grooving City of the Mirrorballs betrays influences like Steely Dan and Michael Franks. Waiting for has an intimate ticking, dance away (Roxy Music)--like, ticking rhythmbox in an attractive floating ballad, which is packed a warm synthesizer blanket.
After the cheerful hopping jazzy groover the urge follows legends. A disturbed Kermis-like instrumental with a transverse sound, which is occasionally reminiscent of Zappa.
Order your Pina Colada as well as you are with the tropical Lome Groover the Kind of Fool I've leg. Joostvd sounds like Tony Joe White who also ventures into the Latin. Celebe is a very fragile play box-like melody in which influences from the Vaudeville and smoky jazz can be found. The Sand. The hip -rocking groover can't own what fades away closes the album.
I just try again. Joostvd deserves to grow up. In the meantime, I am great with this new edition of the large musical adventure book by Joostvd!
