Hai folks, my gut says speak again! Yes, I'm still breathing.... musically the most. It's that time of the year. 12 songs this time, more than enough to get you all hooked. I can only go with the natural flow and there were a lot of ideas, but the songs I've chosen fit the best on this album. Writing and playing are always the most fun part of the proces, mixing and mastering took a while. The album is called Collapse and it will be released 6 june 2025 on all the regular online streaming platforms, so click away!

That title almost immediately came up, because of a picture my wife took of me during a casual walk on a very long bridge from island to island (and it eventually inspired the front cover). A bridge to what? I guess the most obvious explanation behind the title is the turmoil in the world of today and how I look at it in general. The fear. Angst. Anger. Total breakdown. Will I cross over? What will happen? Will the bridge collapse? At any moment?
The final result, if you see it in a more light-hearted way, you can see what will cause the collapse of this crossing. Is it some white paint or milk? Well, you can use your imagination I guess.
I've been using a lot of online designers in the past and this time 'Adobe Express' came into view. Thinking, "So what if I change the background this time?" I only kept the bridge, take me to it!
Some examples:
The music though, is not that depressing I think and that's exactly what I aim for, the upbeat... and music is still a consistent factor in my life. Lucky me!
Pretentious, me? I do what I like.
So what it is. Pop music, melodic with a bit of those jazzy, latinesque, bluesy, funky patterns, comic vibes that keep crawling out of my head.
The songs
But how do I keep the music upbeat? It sounds easy, but simply, I cannot write when I'm down, unhappy, sad. I'm a fly on the wall. The songs come in a spur of waves and sometimes real fast afterward the awkward feelings. I'm more self-reflective after the troubles of life and I like that! It can be anger or joy, but that's all the energy I need. Like a SpongeJoosTVD, I suck it (what?) all in and push it out.
I'll keep U updated, so come back!

Next: now make some sense, gimme that promo video!
Late December 1963. The year I was born. Just after JFK had been brutally killed. And then Bang the Beatles happened.. and the Stones, Who, Kinks followed and...
196Tree
Is the title of the new album (20th digital album) and it will be released on 3 june 2024, again distributed by AMADEA music.
The song ideas came in as huge waves of inspiration and I just happened to be there, grabbing all of those in time! Excitement again. I still play everyday, strumming, singing old covers or smoothtalking piano chords and melodies with eachother. I couldn't wait to nurse these 14 brand new songs and make them happen. A lot of ping-pong playing, trying out and out of the box thinking got me through the days in working out all of the arrangements. More deep delving occured, daring myself, more challenging than before. So the songs are all over the place I guess, eclectic to the core.
Yes, no blood, but a lot of sweat and tears of joy! Hard work? Many, many details, but worth it. No pain, no gain. Mostly it was pure fun.
The covers
Well as the title suggests, it's about a particular year. I've made this album in my sixtieth year around the sun. So what about a photo collage? 3 became tree. A tree of pictures. So a search for a history in family snapshots of myself began. A lot of music connections were added too. Some of you may even recognize yourselves! So if you do and you think it's not appropriate, call the office immediately!
So without further ado....
Next: a movie! Aha. Yes, show me your 196Tree promo video!
Yes, but let me explain... I'm not a professional Godley and Creme video maker, although I do have a lot of fun with the process of creating something myself.
Inspiration
Well, a lot of that came from working, experimenting with Instagram. After I made the front cover(s) et all, I used those pictures as a background to put the singing stuff on top of it. I made a lot of short reels, where I tried to playback to the song with different effects on top of them. Almost all of those Joosts have sunglasses, haha. I don't know why..
Then I put all those faces in round frames, moving and shaking to the beat.
Hardware and software do matter!
It's all DIY stuff you know so it has its charms! Sure, the technical side is important of course, to work out precisely the pitching of the singing for example.. it almost drove me crazy. Overall I thinks it floats pretty well.
Hope you tap to the beat with me! So let's find some popcorn...
To wet your appetite further, to get you involved with the new stuff, I want you to....behave. Well sort of. Second promo from the new album of JoosTVD: "The Fly On The Wall Routine", release 30th april 2019.
As a former drummer, I am always inspired by rhythm patterns from all
over the world. There'a a syncopatic afro/latin-funk beat that's inspired
this song. All the harmonies in the chorus are afro inspired.
Instrumental arrangements, like the piano motives are more latinesque.
Think "Talking Heads" Remain in Light's hypnotic feel. The lyrics: they
have a serious and self-reflecting side: how to "behave' normally these
days. Sing along! ("hey ya hey ya nanana") Behave...just like I do!
Watch promo 2:
Behave [Lyris/ Music: JoosTVD]
Larry likes to scream for hours
Fergie likes to eat the flowers
(Hey ya hey nanana)
There's a fire in my kitchen
A little murder on the floor
Nothing beats this witching anymore
I can't control my urges
Life's too easy in my court
And after all these purges I get bored
As long as you behave
(As long as you behave just like I do
And if you won't behave than I won't too)
Nothing will be happening to you
Behave just like I do I do
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Nothing will be happening to you
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Hey ya hey ya nanana hey!
I see a bubble when you babble
The struggle when you slip
Who cares about the hassle when you're hip?
You cannot lose your temper
So you better sell your soul
And you can love me tender
Or not at all
As long as you behave
(As long as you behave just like I do
And if you won't behave than I won't too)
Nothing will be happening to you
Behave just like I do I do
Fergie likes to eat the flowers
Larry likes to scream for hours
Let me walk you through the papers
Maybe if I see you later
Hey ya hey ya nanana
(Hey hey hey)
Hey ya hey ya nanana
(Hey hey hey)
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Let me walk you through the papers
Hey ya hey ya nanana
(Hey hey hey)
Hey ya hey ya nanana
(Hey hey hey)
Hey ya hey ya nanana
Maybe if I see you later

Another nice review from Music World (source: https://goo.gl/gy84HQ)
Auteur: Fred Pach
"Ongeveer een jaar na zijn vorige album Open My Parachute bracht de
Nederlandse multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter Joos TVD (alias
English: About a year after his last album Open My
Parachute brought the Dutch multi-instrumentalist / singer-songwriter
Joos TVD (aka Joost van Dinther, with musical nicknamed The Vanished
Dutchman Joost) a new album, entitled Sagitario. And once again he does
not disappoint the listener. Again a pleasant mix of danceable R &
B, funk, pop and cabaret and a jazzy flavor, which some songs are
tinted, is audible.
In the first issue Private Scene Joos TVD
sings funny way that the toilet by now the only place where one can
nowadays only. In other songs will include raised frantic friends and
the life of the rich in Hollywood. Theme in the songs are humorous texts
and the large variation between the twelve songs for me as well as his
previous album a pleasant experience.
Again, it is hard to
imagine that we are dealing with a purely solo project. Van Dinther
plays all the instruments and wrote all the songs himself. His musical
projects are therefore unique. The album you hear makes you feel a whole
band, is partly because he uses 'drum samples' with the pleasant result
that the organic value of the album is maintained.
Sagitario is another successful music project from JoosTVD.
